R2USD is a yield-bearing stablecoin developed by the R2 protocol, designed to offer stable, on-chain returns by integrating traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi). The protocol launched its testnet in April 2025. with the mainnet expected in Q2 2025.

How Does R2USD Generate Stable Yields?

R2USD is backed by a diversified portfolio of tokenized US Treasuries, money market funds, real estate rental income, and other traditional financial assets. This diverse backing provides a stable foundation for R2USD, allowing it to generate reliable yields for holders.

What Are the Benefits of Minting and Staking R2USD?

Users can mint R2USD using testnet USDC and stake it into sR2USD to earn yields. The staking process allows users to experience the potential returns from the real-world assets backing the stablecoin, providing a unique opportunity to earn passive income.

What is the Dual Reward System in R2USD?

R2USD employs a points-based reward system that includes “Signals” for on-chain actions and “Pulses” for social engagement. These points can be converted to R2 tokens upon the mainnet launch, incentivizing users to engage with the platform.

How Can Users Participate in the R2USD Testnet?

R2USD's testnet, Season #0. is currently live, offering users the opportunity to mint and stake R2USD, engage with R2BTC and R2ETH vaults, and complete tasks to earn reward points.

Conclusion

R2USD offers a unique blend of traditional finance and decentralized finance, allowing users to earn stable yields backed by real-world assets. With its innovative approach and upcoming mainnet launch, R2USD is poised to become a significant player in the stablecoin and DeFi spaces.
