SENT Token Economics defines how value, participation, and long-term incentives are structured within the Sentient network. As the coordination token of a decentralized open source AI platform, SENT is designed to favor community ownership while funding sustained research and infrastructure growth.

What Is the SENT Token Used For?

SENT functions as the core utility asset of the Sentient network. It is used for staking, governance, and coordinating resources across the GRID, the decentralized infrastructure layer for AI development.

By staking SENT, users help secure the network while gaining voting power and reward multipliers, directly tying participation to influence.

How Is the SENT Supply Distributed?

The total supply of SENT is fixed at just over 34.3 billion tokens. The majority, more than 65 percent, is allocated to the community through airdrops, ecosystem development, and public participation programs.

The remaining supply is split between the development team and early investors, ensuring that builders and backers are aligned with long-term network success rather than short-term liquidity.

What Does the Vesting Schedule Look Like?

Only a portion of community tokens are unlocked at launch. The rest vest gradually over four years, preventing sudden supply shocks. Team and investor tokens unlock even later, ensuring that early circulating supply is dominated by users and contributors.

This structure is meant to reduce speculative pressure while rewarding sustained engagement.

How Do Emissions and Rewards Work?

Each year, two percent of the total supply is allocated to a community reward pool. These tokens are distributed to active participants through projects, incentives, and network contributions.

Unused rewards do not roll over. Instead, they are locked permanently, and a new allocation is issued the following year to keep incentives fresh and predictable.

Conclusion

SENT Token Economics is built around participation rather than extraction. By prioritizing community ownership, slow emissions, and clear utility, Sentient is aiming to create a durable economic foundation for decentralized AI.
