Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and token airdrops for Ethereum name services may provides a roadmap for the development of other DAOs. Today we will talk about what is the ENS airdrop and how many ENS tokens were airdropped. Let’s find out.

What is the ENS airdrop?

The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) airdrop took place on November 8th 2021 around 7pm ET. The token code is ENS (no surprise there), and the contract looks like this: 0xC18360217D8F7Ab5e7c516566761Ea12Ce7F9D72 (don't try to trade anything else!).

Announced on November 2nd, this is a major event as a key part of the Web3 infrastructure, the domain system for the decentralized web, and the "login with Ethereum" alternative login pioneer built on Ethereum is issuing tokens and transitioning to DAOs, Allowing users to hold .eth names on October 30 th (snapshot date) to receive ENS tokens and decide the future of the protocol. The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) team has been extremely cautious and has taken extensive steps to ensure the airdrop is genuine. This, combined with a VC-free atmosphere and no unfair low-cost sales to either party, guarantees that the protocol will continue to truly be the backbone of the decentralized web. Additionally, the team is assigned a long vesting period, the community receives 25% of all tokens as an airdrop, and 50% is reserved for the community treasury. The value of ENS is likely to land immediately after launch.

How many ENS tokens were airdropped?

According to Dune Analytics, 137,689 addresses are eligible to claim the airdrop, of which 62,634 addresses have completed claims, accounting for 49.72% of the available supply. The ENS airdrop marks one of the largest token airdrops of the year, second only to the dYdX airdrop, which provided up to six of the most active users of the decentralized derivatives exchange Number of paydays.

I hope this article will help you to learn what is the ENS airdrop and how many ENS tokens were airdropped. The ENS domain is already integrated with a large portion of the crypto ecosystem and is growing every day. Currently compatible with Coinbase, Rainbow, Trust Wallet, MyCrypto, MetaMask, Huobi, etc.
