In this article, you will learn what is the Otherside metaverse. The Metaverse is a concept that describes a fully immersive, virtual world where people can interact with each other and digital objects in a seamless and persistent way. The concept has gained significant attention recently due to the increasing interest in virtual and augmented reality, blockchain technology, and online gaming.

What is the Otherside Metaverse?

The Otherside Metaverse is a term that refers to a virtual world that is being developed by a company called The Sandbox. It is designed to be a decentralized, blockchain-based gaming platform where players can create, share, and monetize their own gaming experiences using non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and cryptocurrencies.

In the Otherside Metaverse, players will be able to purchase virtual land and use it to create their own games, experiences, and social spaces. They can also buy, sell, and trade NFTs, which represent unique digital assets such as weapons, vehicles, and skins.

The Otherside Metaverse is intended to be a collaborative and immersive gaming platform, where players can explore and interact with each other's creations. It aims to be a fully decentralized platform, meaning that users will have control over their own assets and experiences, without the need for intermediaries.

The Otherside Metaverse is still in development, and it remains to be seen how successful it will be in realizing its vision. However, it is one of many examples of the growing interest in blockchain-based gaming and virtual worlds.

Otherside Metaverse Tech Demo

Around 4.500 users participated in a tech demo for “Otherside”, a virtual 3D world that's being developed by Bored Ape Yacht Club creators Yuga Labs. The tech demo, which was dubbed the “first trip”, was available for holders of Otherdeeds, which are NFTs representing land ownership in the Otherside world.

The team behind Otherside has also released a litepaper outlining some of the key concepts behind their metaverse.

Yuga Labs plans to organize more “trips” to showcase the technology and allow early adopters to get a taste of what the Otherside will offer. The current phase of the Otherside project is called the “Voyager's Journey”, and will have 11 parts in total , with each focusing on a different aspect of the Otherside.

Notably, the Otherside will also include the Otherside Development Kit (ODK), which is a suite of tools that will let users launch their creations in the Otherside. According to the developers, objects created with the Otherside Development Kit will be usable anywhere in the Otherside virtual world, and potentially also other metaverse worlds that adopt the standard.

The feedback from testers appears to be overwhelmingly positive, with users being impressed by the colorful world and the platform being able to support so many players concurrently. Otherside uses technology provided by Improbable, a company specializing in virtual worlds. Improbable with is M² plat a video game streaming service that makes it possible for users to get a high fidelity experience inside their standard web browser or mobile device.

Bottom Line

The metaverse has the potential to create a new kind of digital economy, where people can work, play, and socialize in a fully immersive virtual world. However, there are also concerns around privacy, security, and the potential for addiction and social isolation. This article is about what is the Otherside metaverse.
