Web3 is a new iteration of the World Wide Web that hosts decentralized applications running on blockchain technology. So What is Web 1 Web2 and Web3 & whether Web3.0 is a future? If you do not know yet, let's read the article below to understand more about Web3.

What is web 1 Web 2 and Web3?

The digital age has its own lexicon, a dizzying array of buzzwords, words, and acronyms designed to obfuscate their message as much as possible. Many of these new terms have entered our everyday vocabulary, although their meanings have often become confusing and ambiguous.

Also, by the way, no one really uses the word "World Wide Web" anymore. We still have remnants of the phrase, though, since most URLs start with the letters "www," which, unsurprisingly, stands for "World Wide Web" ." This is an indelible part of our internet culture.

Web1.0

Basically, the first version of this network consisted of a few people creating web pages and content and web pages for a large audience, allowing them to access facts, information and content from the source.

People use the term "Web 1.0" to describe the earliest form of the Internet. Users see the first example of a global network that hints at the future potential of digital communication and information sharing.

Web2.0

If Web 1.0 was about a few people creating content for a larger audience, Web 2.0 is about many people creating more content for a growing audience. Web 1.0 focused on reading; Web 2.0 focused on participation and contribution.

This Internet form emphasizes User Generated Content (UGC), ease of use, interactivity, and improved compatibility with other systems and devices. Web 2.0 is all about the end-user experience. So this web form is responsible for creating community, collaboration, conversation and social media. As such, Web 2.0 is considered the primary form of web interaction for most users today.

Web3.0

The term web3, also written as web 3.0, was first coined by computer scientist and Ethereum co-founder Gavin Wood in 2014 on his blog "Insights into the Modern World". He called it a "post-Snowden" network Edward Snowden and data privacy had hit the headlines the year before. It is a new, decentralized iteration of the web running on blockchain technology.

Since then, Web3 has given new meaning to its advocates. Not only is it a way to manage data, but web3 is also a way to redistribute ownership of the internet. "web3 is all about moving ownership and decision-making from a small group of people to the community. It's very democratic," said Josh Neuroth, product lead at Ankr, a web3 infrastructure company.

Is Web 3.0 the future?

Web 3.0 is an upgraded version of Web 2.0, the future and the next generation. Instead of having a centralized perspective like Web 2.0, it will have a decentralized impact. Besides, based on the characteristics of Web 3.0, Web 3.0 will play an important role in our life.

I hope this article will help you to learn about Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 and whether Web 3.0 is the future. Various Web 3.0 technologies such as blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, semantic web, artificial intelligence, machine learning, metaverse, 3D graphics , decentralized autonomous organizations, edge computing, smart contracts and decentralized applications will be developed in the next 10 year to continue to grow.
