Buying things with cash is much easier sometimes. So… what stores sell bitcoin with cash? LibertyX, a provider of bitcoin ATMs, has joined together with 7-Eleven, Rite Aid, and CVS to expand its cash for cryptocurrency network to 20,000 sites.
The 7-Eleven, CVS, and Rite Aid have joined forces with the bitcoin ATM firm LibertyX.
Users of the LibertyX app may now use cash to pay for Bitcoin transactions at 20,000 partner establishments across the US thanks to the agreement. The majority of fees are currently waived, but using the service requires you to sign up for a waiting.
LibertyX, a provider of bitcoin ATMs, is broadening the scope of its effort to make bitcoin accessible "on every block" in the United States. In an agreement signed with 7-Eleven, CVS, and Rite Aid stores, the firm stated today that it is now enabling its customers to buy Bitcoin with cash at 20,000 retail locations across the United States.
LibertyX, however, is making it such that prospective buyers of BTC only need to download their iOS or Android app, which is then scanned at a partner retail location to execute the cash transaction, as opposed to dealing with ATMs.
This is how it goes: Users of the LibertyX app enter their Bitcoin addresses before clicking "start purchase." The next step is to choose one of the listed merchants, such as the 7-Eleven around the corner, and then click "contribute cash now." The customer then hands the cashier the money (between $20 and $500) at the 7-Eleven store after the cashier scans the LibertyX barcode.
The $4.95 merchant service fee and "customer picked miner fee" must be paid, and then you must click "convert to Bitcoin" on the app to finish purchasing your Bitcoin with cash.
Interested clients can use the store locator on LibertyX's website right now to find the closest merchant accepting cash in exchange for cryptocurrencies. In case you were wondering, LibertyX does, in fact, KYC its customers. According to a FAQ on its website, all of its users must provide a photo ID, name, address, and date of birth.
Unfortunately, those who intended to run to the nearest CVS right now to buy Bitcoin might want to slow down. All of the stories featured on LibertyX's website are currently marked as being on a "waitlist," and the customer sign-up page is also marked as such. It is unknown whether and when the website will go completely live.
