One of the top cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, Binance, has made so many alterations over the years that many people now are asking the question “Where is Binance located?”
The exchange, which a recent estimate pegged at more than $4.5 billion, initially launched in Shanghai. The exchange has developed beyond the straightforward trading of crypto assets to include its own research team, build a network called Binance Chain (formerly known as Binance Smart Chain) ), and promote a number of technological advancements in the crypto industry.
While Binance was established in its current form in 2017, Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of the exchange, has a longer history of participation in cryptocurrencies. In 2005, Zhao established Fusion Systems in Shanghai, a business that created high-frequency trading platforms for stockbrokers .
He joined Blockchain info, which is now Blockchain com, in 2013 as a result of his employment in finance and interest in the embryonic cryptocurrency industry. Zhao was the third person in the group. Zhao also got involved with the cryptocurrency exchange OKCoin, where he spent less than a year as the CTO.
Zhao allegedly went "all in" on Bitcoin in 2014, leaving his Shanghai home to focus on the creation of his own cryptocurrency company, according to a 2018 feature by Fortune. A "purely digital asset exchange that would not touch fiat money" was Zhao's original goal. In order to avoid the risks and regulatory issues that had dogged earlier exchanges, he wished to sever relations with current financial institutions.
Where Is Binance Located?
Just a few months later, the obscurity surrounding Binance's official headquarters attracted even more interest. Changpeng Zhao was questioned by Laura Shin over the location of his company's headquarters at the Ethereal Summit hosted by ConsenSys in May 2020.
Zhao blushed at the question “Where Is Binance Located?”
So you don't have to ask questions like that, because there isn't one, I believe this to be the beauty of the blockchain. So, it means binance does not have headquarters.
Zhao proceeded by stating that Binance has numerous offices and employees spread over 50 different nations. He described the business as a brand-new form of entity that didn't require a registered bank or mailing address. Despite the fact that both were forms of mobility , he contrasted the conversation with the differences between a horse and an automobile and concluded,
“Wherever I sit, it is going to be the Binance office. Wherever I need somebody, is going to be the Binance office.”
Zhao responded that Binance was "in the open" and that he wasn't trying to "obfuscate" or "conceal" the location of the business.
