If you are into Bitcoin criticism, you must have heard of Peter Schiff. But who is Peter Schiff really? How does he liquidate his Euro Pacific Bank?

Who is Peter Schiff Bitcoin?

American stock broker, financial analyst, and radio host Peter David Schiff. He serves as the CEO and chief global strategist of Westport, Connecticut-based broker-dealer Euro Pacific Capital Inc. Additionally, he plays a number of roles in other businesses that provide financial services, such as full-service bank Euro Pacific Bank, independent investment advisor Euro Pacific Asset Management, and precious metals dealer Schiff Gold (formerly Euro Pacific Precious Metals).

Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff is closing his Puerto Rican Euro Pacific Bank and returning all deposits

Peter Schiff, a strong supporter of gold and a harsh critic of Bitcoin, will have to liquidate his Puerto Rican Euro Pacific Bank. He will reimburse the depositors of his bank $66.7 million. In 2020, a global investigation targeting tax evasion and money laundering focused on Euro Pacific Bank.

The well-known gold supporter and money manager Peter Schiff has agreed to close down his Puerto Rican Euro Pacific Bank in accordance with government regulations.

In 2020, Puerto Rican-based boutique online bank Euro Pacific Bank's account holders were the focus of a global inquiry. The bank had 8,000 depositors and $140 million at the time. Some depositors were thought to be utilizing the bank accounts for tax and money laundering purposes. Operation Atlantis, a joint investigation by the United States and four other nations, examined the bank's participation in and knowledge of these operations.

The Bitcoin skeptic must now terminate the bank's access and return all deposits to customers in full, or $66.7 million. According to the official settlement papers quoted by the New York Times, Schiff will also be required to pay $300,000 in fines.
