The collapse of TerraLuna in 2022 left many investors empty-handed and seeking answers. In the aftermath of the collapse, Anonymous, a well-known hacker collective, has been linked to the case. Specifically, they have been targeting Do Kwon, the founder of TerraLuna, who is alleged to have scammed investors out of millions of dollars. This article will delve into the reasons behind Anonymous' involvement and explore what happened to Do Kwon after TerraLuna's collapse.

Why did Anonymous hackers target Do Kwon?

Anonymous has a long history of targeting individuals and organizations involved in fraudulent and corrupt activities. In the case of Do Kwon, the hacktivist collective was motivated by the loss of billions of dollars in investors' assets due to the collapse of TerraLuna. Anonymous alleges that Do Kwon had malicious intent from the beginning, engaging in money laundering and fraud. The hacktivist collective also accuses Do Kwon of cashing out millions of dollars every month at the height of the TerraLuna scheme.

According to Anonymous, Do Kwon's arrogance and unethical behavior were evident from the start. The hacktivist collective believes that he was fully aware of the risks and consequences of the TerraLuna scheme, yet chose to proceed with it anyway, at the expense of innocent investors. Anonymous has vowed to expose Do Kwon's actions and hold him accountable for his role in the collapse of TerraLuna, which they view as a clear example of corporate greed and corruption.

What happened to Do Kwon?

Do Kwon, the co-founder and former CEO of Terra, has been the subject of an ongoing investigation and legal proceedings related to the collapse of the TerraLuna project. In September 2022, a South Korean court issued an arrest warrant for Kwon and five others on allegations of violations of Korean capital markets law. At that time, all six individuals were reported to be located in Singapore. In response, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office began the process of placing Kwon on the Interpol red notice list and revoking his passport.

In December 2022, South Korean authorities indicated that they believed Kwon was hiding in Serbia, as this country does not have an extradition treaty with South Korea. However, in March 2023, Kwon was arrested at Podgorica Airport in Montenegro, while attempting to travel to Dubai using falsified Costa Rican documents. He was also found to be carrying falsified Belgian travel documents. Following his arrest, he was charged by a federal grand jury in Manhattan with eight counts, including securities fraud, commodities fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy. It remains to be seen how Kwon's legal proceedings will progress and what the ultimate outcome will be for him and those associated with the TerraLuna project.

Conclusion

The TerraLuna collapse and the subsequent involvement of Anonymous and legal proceedings against Do Kwon have highlighted the risks and consequences of fraudulent and unethical behavior in the business world. The actions of Do Kwon and others associated with TerraLuna have resulted in significant losses for innocent investors and have underscored the need for greater accountability and transparency in the corporate world. While the legal proceedings against Do Kwon are ongoing, it is clear that the fallout from TerraLuna's collapse will continue to be felt for some time. Hopefully, the lessons learned from this case will lead to greater scrutiny and oversight of financial schemes and prevent similar instances of corporate greed and corruption in the future."
