If you are facing MetaMask say Quotes not available error, this article is for you. Today we will talk about why does MetaMask say quotes not available and how to fix that error.

If you get this message when trying to swap, it is because there is not enough liquidity to execute the trade.

Why does MetaMask say quotes not available?

"Quotes not Available" notification means you can start looking at some common reasons. You may receive this notification for a number of reasons. Find one in the list below that matches your situation:

- Your swap request does not match

Token prices on MetaMask fluctuate frequently. These price changes affect the liquidity of the tokens you currently own. To successfully trade tokens on the app, you must have an appropriate token match, otherwise, the transaction will not be processed. Before attempting any swaps, it is important to understand the trending coin prices.

- You don't have enough liquidity

If there has been a recent dramatic change in trending token prices, the liquidity of your account may prevent you from successfully making swaps. Your liquidity in the application is determined by your maximum slippage, which is the difference between the quoted price of the token and the actual price you are willing to pay.

If a token exceeds your maximum slippage limit, MetaMask will not be able to complete the exchange, preventing you from purchasing tokens that you may not be able to afford.

- Maximum slippage is too low

Your maximum slippage in the MetaMask application determines your overall trading limit. When the price of tokens rises or falls, their liquidity is affected. Your maximum slippage limit determines how your trading account and swaps react to these changes.

If your max slippage is too low and the trending token price rises sharply, you may not be able to complete the swap if your liquidity is set low. MetaMask relies on exchange matching to complete transactions. The current liquidity of the tokens will prevent them from matching the tokens currently in your account.

- There is a problem with the amount you are trying to exchange

If you try to make an exchange outside of the acceptable range on MetaMask, you will not be able to complete the exchange and a "Quotes not Available" notification will appear.

You cannot complete any of these transactions regardless of the liquidity of the token. If you try to trade a swap that is too high or too low, you may have problems trying to find a trade match.

How to Fix Metamask “Quotes not available”?

To fix "no quotes" on MetaMask, you need to gradually increase the maximum slippage. Start with a maximum slippage of 3% and increase to 4% and 5% respectively.

This will ensure that you get the most value out of the token pair you are trading.

Method 1: Increase your maximum slippage

The first way to fix the "No Quotes Available" error on MetaMask is to increase your maximum slippage. First, open MetaMask, click on "Swap", and select the token pair you want to trade. On the swap page, you'll see a "Maximum slippage" option. Click on "Max Slippage" and increase it to 4% and 5% respectively. After increasing the maximum slippage to 4%, try swapping tokens. Also, try swapping tokens after increasing them to 5%.

Method 2: Use a decentralized exchange

The second method is to use a decentralized exchange to exchange your tokens instead of MetaMask. The two most popular decentralized exchanges are PancakeSwap and Uniswap. For the purpose of this guide, we will use PancakeSwap.

I hope now you will understand why does MetaMask say “Quotes not available” and how to fix that error. Swapping tokens on MetaMask is fairly easy. All you need to do is choose the token pair you want to exchange. Next, enter the number of tokens you want to exchange for another token and exchange. However, with low liquidity levels, swaps may fail. Unfortunately, it is impossible to predict when liquidity will be available.
