Facebook is no longer Facebook. It has changed to a new name - Meta. This article will discuss, "Why The Choice For Meta As Facebook's New Name? What is The Meaning Of Meta?" Let's get started.

Why The Choice For Meta As Facebook's New Name?

Metaverse, Zuckerberg said, is the new way. The Facebook CEO, who is a fan of classics, said that the word "meta" comes from the Greek word "beyond".

What is The Meaning Of Meta?

Meta is a prefix — a word put before another — that means after or or beyond, to operate at a higher level, or change.

For instance, metacarpus (the bones of the fingers that come after the wrist), metallanguage (the description of another language), and metamorphosis (a change of form).

But in popular culture, it also refers to the act of something becoming self-aware.

This is shown in films and television programs that break the fourth wall by doing something that acknowledges the viewership.

The comedy program Community is the best example of meta, though.

The program perfected meta during its six seasons, incorporating elements of the actors' religion into their roles, paying homage to other programs with themed episodes, and even referring to itself as a show by "doing a bottle episode".

Another example of a show that goes meta is Rick and Morty, which is co-created by the same writer who made Community, Dan Harmon.

30 Rock, created by Tina Fey, was also well known for its meta references, particularly when Fey's character Liz Lemon directly asked advertisers "can we have our money now?" after a product placement.

Why The Choice For Meta As Facebook's New Name? - Hopefully, this article can help you to get some knowledge.
