The Terra Classic (LUNC) ecosystem recently witnessed a series of significant developments. Following a joint governance proposal for liquid collateralized derivatives, a new proposal emerged in the subsequent quarter. This proposal introduced the idea of establishing a dedicated team of six senior full-stack engineers, known as the "Six Samurai." Passionate about their role as LUNC holders, the team aims to rejuvenate the ecosystem and usher in a true renaissance by leveraging their expertise and commitment.
Terra initially emerged as a multi-faceted ecosystem but encountered challenges in 2022 when its TerraUSD (UST) stablecoin and LUNA asset faced significant setbacks. Consequently, the project underwent drastic transformations, resulting in the introduction of a new blockchain called Terra 2.0. The new chain incorporates a fresh asset known as LUNA, often referred to as Terra (LUNA2), while the original Terra chain has been renamed Terra Classic.
During the third quarter of 2023, the Six Samurai team presented a detailed plan and proposed a budget of $116,000. Their roadmap encompasses pivotal milestones such as migrating from Columbus-5 to Columbus-6 and upgrading to the latest Cosmos SDK. Furthermore , the proposal includes listing Terra Classic on Keplr's web interface, developing a web tool for analytics visualization, and integrating Mintscan—a Cosmos block explorer—into cryptocurrency exchanges and client platforms. The team expresses a strong determination to revive the ecosystem, displaying a readiness to collaborate and coordinate with other teams to advance the development of LUNC.
The response from the LUNC community has been largely positive, with indications of support for the Six Samurai team's proposal. CoinMarketCap data reveals a 1.65% decline in LUNC's value over the past 24 hours. Presently ranked 75th, LUNC possesses a real- time market cap of $537,523,209. The circulating supply of LUNC coins amounts to 5,822,833,985,154, while the maximum supply remains unspecified. These recent developments signal an intriguing phase for Terra Classic and its potential future trajectory .
